You need to prime and expand your donor base with a compelling and, if possible, unique hook to convince them to give to YOUR nonprofit.

This is the most important part of the planning process. What is your hook? What will encourage donors to give? To get your creative juices flowing, go out on the internet and see what other nonprofits did successfully in 2016. Then, think about what makes your nonprofit unique. What theme or activity will not only be fun and attract attention, but also show donors and potential donors what you will do with the money? There is a perfect idea for your nonprofit out there. You just need to think on it.
Plan a Pre-Giving Tuesday Event
It is time to fire up your donor base, staff, and volunteers! There is no better way to do that than by having an event, either in person or online, that gears everyone up for the big day.
Email and Social Blitz
Communicating directly with donors and potential donors about Giving Tuesday will give you a leg up on some of your competition. Tell your constituency what you are planning, and how they can be a part of it. And whatever you do, with social, be sure to use not only the #GivingTuesday hashtag, but also a hashtag that is unique to YOUR Giving Tuesday activities.
Your website should prominently feature your Giving Tuesday activities and initiatives NOW.

Put your thinking cap on… what would be the best way to stand out on Giving Tuesday? It can be something you do in person or on social media. Be creative!
If you are not posting videos already, now is a great time to start. It can be as simple as having your team talk about Giving Tuesday and its importance to your cause. But you can do all kinds of other stuff on video… remember the Ice Bucket Challenge? Maybe this is the year that YOUR nonprofit goes viral!
