Our Story

Our founder, Jason Burgess, after working in the technology space for 8 years, decided to enter the nonprofit space in 2003. He began this journey by working with a large nonprofit in the Memphis area, where he served as the director of development. He quickly realized that he could use his talents to improve efficiency at the nonprofit, while at the same time “doing good” to help the community that he lived in. From that point on, he focused on developing solutions to help nonprofits and furthering his expertise in nonprofit management. In 2010, he joined Higginbotham & Drescher, a nonprofit consulting firm, based in Nashville, Tennessee. Since then, he has helped numerous nonprofits across the United States by developing fundraising strategies, strengthening boards through board development sessions and implementing technology solutions to empower the organizations to be more effective and efficient. As we have evolved, our goal was to be a company that offered more than just products– it would be a company that helped organizations embrace new ways of thinking about marketing and donor management through innovative, customized service.

Today, we not only continue to offer those customized services, but we’ve also expanded our reach to include products that encourage nonprofits to make the most of their resources. The helping people part hasn’t changed.

We’re still dedicated to finding forward-thinking solutions, providing personalized services, and building tools that empower organizations to positively impact the world.

Chris Vetetoe
Director of Sales and Marketing

As the Director of Sales and Marketing, Chris brings a unique approach and perspective to his role with DonorLynk. Before joining DonorLynk, Chris was a client. He served as the Director of Advancement at a private, independent school in Nashville, TN.

“Like many Development or Advancement Directors, we were limited in resources and wore many hats within our organization. Time management was a challenge and our donor management system was cumbersome, rigid, and wasn’t user or donor friendly. I was looking for a way to increase donor relations, manage volunteers, automate my processes, sync online giving to our CRM system, and simply become more efficient and effective. DonorLynk accomplished that and more. They simplified the process, improved our ability to engage donors, built automated workflow, provided tools needed to increase volunteer participation, and synced the online giving process.  On top of all that their customer service was outstanding.”

Prior to working as an Advancement Director Chris worked in sales leadership roles providing technology and program driven solutions to clients in various verticals. He also organized and managed a nonprofit sports organization called Crossfire. Chris enjoys building relationships and providing solutions that has a positive impact on his clients and the community.
